Deep in the Hunter Valley

'Deep in the Hunter Valley' - There is a type of symmetry in the landscape here in the Upper Hunter Valley, NSW, that I wanted to convey in this work. The painting captures the late afternoon colours when the mountains became a shade of mauve under the setting sun, while soft pinks, grey, orange and ochre shades evoke the feeling of the landscape near the small country town of Merriwa.
