assemblage

'Assemblage' was inspired by a view, from a hill, of a rural bushfire approaching in the heat of a summer afternoon, and by how the assemblage of vegetation can fuel it, and how plant and animal species are impacted and respond to the outcome of fire. Here, colour and energetic, gestural marks convey the heat, intensity, and movement of the first, as well as the beauty of the landscape.
